Community Outreach

Play-based learning in the natural environment makes the experience meaningful, memorable and motivating.

Lead flower farmer, Katy, is also a pediatric occupational therapist, and for the past 25 years has treated individuals in a variety of settings ranging from school, outpatient clinic, and home health. Katy is proud to offer Windmill Ranch as a novel service delivery setting where participants leave their crutches behind to climb into a saddle, get their hands messy in the garden, and use their voices to ask to do it all again. Using the outdoor environment provides meaningful engagement for play-based learning and hands-on problem solving and adventure.

We welcome Scout troops, home schoolers (ESA accepted) and community-based organizations (DDD accepted). Our workshops can be adapted for kids as well as adults of all ages and abilities. Guests may choose from a wide array of programming led by Katy, OTR/L. All programs encompass art, science and Southwest culture. Click the “private workshop” tab to see the complete list.

In addition to activities at the Ranch, we offer therapy in the Cave Creek & Carefree community!
